Obama: Leaving Iraq was not “my decision”

Weekend News and Views

Obama–Leaving Iraq was not “my decision”:  After six years of remorseless excuses, you might think President Obama is running out of others to blame. But never underestimate the victimhood of the Deflector-in-Chief.

At his weekend press conference to explain why he had ordered the U.S. military to renew airstrikes in Iraq, a reporter asked Obama about his decision to remove all U.S. troops from the country.

“Mr. President, do you have any second thoughts about pulling all ground troops out of Iraq?” the reporter asked.

“What I just find interesting is the degree to which this issue keeps on coming up, as if this was my decision,” Obama said (going on to blame Bush for starting the action and the Iraqi people for not wanting us there).

If it is not the job of the Commander-in-Chief of U.S. troops to decide whether the troops should stay or leave, who’s making that decision?

And if its not your decision, Mr Obama, why did you want the credit for it during your reelection campaign?

“You know I say what I mean and I mean what I say,” Obama said repeatedly in 2012.  “I said I’d end the war in Iraq. I ended it.”

But it’s not “ended.” So now, it’s not your problem?

We could dissect the blatant lies in Obama’s Iraq speech until next weekend, but frankly, the routine of outing Obama’s lies has become just as tiresome, nay pathetic, as the constancy of the lies themselves. He knows he’s lying. We all know he’s lying. He knows we know he’s lying. It doesn’t stop him. And no one we send to stop him actually does.

While you were blame-shifting on the South lawn, Mr. Obama, hundreds of men, women, and children, were being slaughtered by Islamic warriors across Iraq and Syria.

Beheaded. Crucified. Their bodies dragged through the streets and impaled on display. Whole towns captive under their threat: ‘Become Muslims by noon today… or we kill all of you‘. Assaulted by an army of Muslim terrorists…who are armed with American weapons and vehicles.

Make your excuses to them, Mr. Obama. Or what’s left of them.

Latest polls- “Everything is terrible”: Our voters have run out of hope…but will we make a change?

Newsmax reports: Americans aren’t happy about their politicians, the future, the economy, and just about everything else, according to the nation’s pollsters, who say there is very little the public still believes in.

“With an ‘everything is terrible’ mindset, I’m mostly thinking about how after several years of cantankerous and unproductive lawmaking in Washington, there are very few political figures or institutions who the public trusts anymore,” the Washington Post’s polling analyst Scott Clement told Politico.

The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows President Barack Obama’s approval ratings are at a record low. A new Gallup Poll shows confidence in the economy is dropping. And overall, poll ratings for both Republicans and Democrats are near all-time lows, according to a CBS Poll.

Particularly striking is the ABC/Washington Post poll that found 51% of respondents disapprove of the job their own House representative is doing (the highest percentage they’ve ever polled on the question).

Yet, with all this open dissatisfaction raging rampant, across party and demographic lines, the majority of incumbents have won their primaries.

So the question becomes, “Who will provide the solution? What is the answer to the problem of Washington?” It’s a question only We the People can answer. Though first, we have to start asking it, not of our politicians, but of ourselves.

Pastor Saeed’s children plead to the President: It’s easy to generalize current American (non)leadership’s failures in nearly all issues foreign and domestic. But those failures have consequences. There are real people, innocent people, suffering today because our President and his administration have refused to uphold the Law.

A heart-wrenching new video shows the young children of American pastor Saeed Abedini pleading with  President Obama to help free their father from prison in Iran.

Watch Rebekka and Jacob Abedini beg for Obama to bring their Daddy home.

“Why does our Daddy need to be in prison for loving Jesus?” Rebekka asks. Why indeed, Mr. President? And will America stand by and let him suffer such undeserved cruelty? Will you? Will we?

These children are waiting for an answer. Again, make your excuses to them. Or better yet, make things right.

Obama-backed Dem incumbent loses in Hawaii: The President’s star power must be falling fast–not even his personal endorsement as the country’s most powerful (former) Hawaiian could sway Democrats in that state into backing their incumbent governor.

The Hawaii Reporter calls the defeat of Gov. Neil Abercrombie in the Democrat primary a “historic upset” and attribute the loss to his having lost touch with base voters. Abercrombie enjoyed support from unions and Barack Obama, but lost overwhelmingly to his primary opponent (66%-31%).

Former Gov. Ben Cayetano said he believes Gov. Neil Abercrombie stunning defeat happened because Abercrombie lost touch with his base.

Abercrombie has also lost favor with his supporters in part because he reversed his positions on key issues without explaining why, Cayetano said.

Losing touch with your base…flip-flopping on key issues…pulling out rockstar endorsements to mask the betrayal…things that lose incumbents elections…

Quick! Somebody tell the Republicans: the Democrats are stealing their playbook.
