But We’re Not Allowed to Call Him a Socialist?

Our incumbent President has now received the unofficial endorsements of Hugo Chavez, the socialist “president” (read: dictator) of Venezuela, Raul Castro, the communist “president” (dictator) of Cuba, and finally, Vladmir Putin the “president” (dictator) of Russia. Dubious endorsements, indeed. Anyone have a guess as to why three of freedom and democracy’s greatest foes want Barack Obama to serve four more years?

But we’re not allowed to call him a socialist?

Is it Turning Around for Romney?

The numbers seem to show Romney is gaining some steam . . . although some polls are showing more optimism than others. Gallup, which was dismissed by most Republican operatives while Obama was on top, is now saying Romney is up 52 to 45 with likely voters.

Rasmussen’s numbers have Romney up, but only by 49 to 47. More importantly, though, three swing states that were “toss ups” last week are now trending to “lean Romney”: Florida, North Carolina, and Missouri.

Tonight’s debate on foreign policy comes on the heels of news that the White House is putting off more talks with Iran until after the election, the Libya cover-up has not disappeared completely from the news although its not dominating as it once was, the missing jobs from the last “miraculous” jobs report have re-appeared, and word is that gas prices are about to fall by up to .50 a gallon in the next week

Democracy is Not a Template

Can we finally put to rest the idea that the “Arab Spring” is some kind of uprising of democratic yearning? While we’re at it, can we finally accept the reality that not every nation “longs to be free” and democracy is not a template that can be dragged and dropped into any scenario, any country, with any kind of people?

Egypt’s “democratically elected” Muslim Brotherhood government’s “Freedom and Justice” wing is now admitting openly “The Muslim Brotherhood established the [FJP] to represent the Brotherhood’s political project, which, in the end, will be a wise government that will institute Islamic Shari’a law.”

If you don’t understand what a socialist means then NO you cannot call the President a socialist. Political novices like Deace are a dime a dozen.
