Black Churches in ‘Adulterous Relationship’ with Obama
So says a prominent evangelical black minister named Harry Jackson, who also says the president has drawn such a hard theological line on issues like marriage it’s forcing black churches to choose between “being black or being godly.” Also on Thursday, a coalition of black ministers representing the nation’s fifth largest Protestant denomination held a press conference calling on Obama to denounce his anti-marriage position.
If At First You Don’t Succeed, Lower Your Standards
The Florida Department of Education lowered the performance level standard on a state writing exam after only 27 percent of fourth graders passed. Fourth grade teachers say the test inadequately reflected their pupils’ writing abilities. They say the main reason the students did poorly was the test question was too hard. According to the Florida Department of Education, the prompt, or essay topic, for fourth graders in the state of Florida this year was, “Suppose you or someone else had a chance to ride a camel. Imagine what happens on this camel ride. Write a story about what happens on this camel ride.” Some teachers say the question was unfair, arguing it may be unrealistic to expect fourth-graders to know what a camel is. Know, they’re not kidding. Might want to prep your kids to learn Arabic, because as soft as we’re becoming as a country they’re going to need it.
Are You a True Ron Paul Supporter?
This clever and snarky quiz from the Christian Science Monitor is designed to tell you whether or not you’re a true Ron Paul supporter. Even though I have had very vocal disagreements with aspects of Paul’s philosophy, the quiz tells me Ron Paul is my man.
