Obama the ‘First Gay President’

This according to Newsweek, and they mean that as a compliment, which just further illustrates the point we are heading towards a fork in the road as a society that will determine our future (or lack thereof). You simply cannot have two absolutely different versions of morality and virtue that are irreconcilable conducting culture under the same Constitution. Eventually one side will win out, the other will either lose or leave, and the culture will either revive or die depending on which side emerges.

Many Black Churches Not On Board with Obama & Homosexuality

The social conservatism of black voters has been one of the best kept secrets in American politics for years, thanks mainly to Republicrats not wanting to campaign on social issues and the traditional stronghold the Democrats have on that demographic. However, black voters have been instrumental in helping the issue of marriage to win all 32 elections its been contested, and that prompted USA Today to take a look at what transpired in black church pulpits the first Sunday after Obama “came out” for the destruction of marriage. It’s doubtful this article is what the White House was hoping for.

Obama Tries to Get Pastors to Ignore Bible

I’m not sure how else to summarize this article from the New York Times, which says the president hosted a conference call with pastors sympathetic to his 2008 presidential bid to get them on board with his decision to affirm that which every vestige of historical Christian orthodoxy has for 2,000 years viewed as immoral. According to the NYT, the response was “not enthusiastic,” and if that’s according to the NYT then it must have been worse.
