Obama has “Shaken his Fist at God”

So says Franklin Graham, son of the great evangelist Billy Graham, who came out in support of North Carolina’s marriage amendment this week. Franklin Graham went on to say “the institution of marriage should not be defined by presidents or polls, governors or the media. The definition was set long ago and changing legislation or policy will never change God’s definition. This is a sad day for America. May God help us.”

Alabama Town Fights for Religious Freedom

The small town of Sylvania in Alabama includes a Bible verse on its welcome signs, drawing the ire of the Freedom From Religion foundation, which is threatening the town with a lawsuit. The former mayor had the signs removed to avoid a controversy, but the new mayor and the city council are ready for a fight.  ”I’m not afraid to take a stand, ” 80-year old Mayor Max Turner said. “We as Christians have got to stand up regardless of what the world might say about us.” Good for Mr. Turner. Now, someone quick teach him our Founding Father’s doctrine of interposition, which requires that he defend his local constituents’ religious freedom no matter what a federal judge who has no jurisdiction tries to say.
