Here it Comes
For the past year I have been warning Republicans that if Mitt Romney is the nominee you will see the vetting of a religion by the mainstream media unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. There are four reasons for this. 1) The media wants Obama to win, obviously. 2) Mormonism is still a mystery to the majority of Americans, and it does have a checkered past. 3) Besides wanting Obama to win, the media would love to drive a wedge between the GOP and its Christian base, which it absolutely loathes. 4) Liberals want payback for the vetting of former Obama mentor Jeremiah Wright in 2008. Enter this piece about Mormonism and Mitt Romney from The Daily Beast, which is based on an interview with the great-great granddaughter of Brigham Young.
Fox News Sells Out Social Conservatives?
This article from Buzzfeed documents two of the highest profile personalities at Fox News adopting all the anti-Christian talking points and propaganda of the homosexual activists on the allegedly “conservative” news network. It also notes that several others, including beloved Judge Andrew Napolitano, think destroying the institution of marriage is no big deal. Sort of explains why Fox was utterly in the tank for Mitt Romney the past two primary cycles. With “friends” like these, who needs CNN? Listen, I’m no Rupert Murdoch, but I do broadcasting on a national level. And beyond the principle of the issue here, there’s simple marketing 101 at stake. Never abandon loyal customers to try and reach people that will likely never become customers.
Inside the Mind of GOP Losers
This article from Politico about the split within the Republican Party hierarchy on whether or not Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan would make a good running mate for Mitt Romney is exhibit A into why we lose. The truth is Ryan would be one of the best choices Romney could make. However, the mindset of the Republican Party establishment and most GOP consultants is prevent defense, and all good football fans know the prevent defense just prevents you from winning.
