Ohio is a Dead-Heat

Would it have made a difference to choose Rob Portman? Probably not, from the looks of the numbers in the battleground state of Ohio. Both Republican Senate candidates and the Republican Presidential nominee are having a tough time gaining traction with a small group of folks from both sides still remaining undecided. Romney and Obama are in a dead heat–locked at 45%-45%. About  10% of those polled said they are still undecided. Most polled say Romney’s Bain experience is not much of a plus for them, so he and the Establishment better hope they get the expected “bump” from a rain-soaked convention . . .  and that it lasts past the bump the Dems get from their convention in North Carolina.

Another Tell-tale Endorsement

Another RINO shows his true colors. Remember when Charlie Crist was a Republican and his name was tossed around as a possible running mate for John McCain? Turns out, he might have been a better fit than we thought since McCain is so eager to “work across the aisle” (read: stab his party in the back). Crist, now a man of “no party,”  endorsed Barack Obama over the weekend.

Romney is proud of RomneyCare . . . and the $50 co-pay abortions

He says he’ll repeal ObamaCare, but Romney is doggedly standing by RomneyCare which is ObamaCare 1.0. Still writhing in discomfort anytime someone links him to a 100 % pro-life candidate like Todd Akin, Romney moved closer to the Left in comments broadcast on Sunday shows where he said “that as Massachusetts governor, he had helped women by guaranteeing coverage for them — and men as well — by enacting that state’s health care legislation. . . Romney said he was proud of his accomplishment at the state level.”

Proud of RomneyCare but will repeal ObamaCare . . .  and replace it with what?

Do Christians have more to fear from Obama or Romney?

Depends on which party, if any, you belong to. If you are a Democrat and vote Obama, that just tells the rest of the party you’re even more willing to compromise your faith for the sake of the party… at least as I understand Christianity. While I am Christian, the term has lost so much meaning due to its widespread usage for groups and ideologies in clear conflict with each other, so I felt the qualifier necessary.

Christians in the Republican party face the same dilemma… however more Republicans still feel the need to at least pay lip service to conservative Christians in the party. Romney winning tells the Republican Party leadership we are as cowed as we (well, I) perceive the Democratic Party’s Christians.

Obama’s more overt actions are sometimes easier, sometimes harder to deal with than what I expect from Romney. Other than the “message” it sends to one’s own party and on a few minor issues (mostly matters of degree), Obama = Romney; a vote for one is a vote for the other.

Obamney is the GOP version of Obama, without a conscience.

How can a Christian vote for a Mormon anyway knowing that this will be seen by them as fulfilling an “ancient”(well ancient to them) prophecy and therefore even further deceiving them into believing this cult has any merit.

Perhaps God does want America to suffer four years of Obama. From suffering comes increased faith.

The Republican establishment has put Christians into a tough position. They are telling them God or America. I don’t believe Romney is going to save America, but even if I did, what is more important? God or America?

Perhaps God put us into this ugly position to ask us that very important question. And too many Christians are saying God to them isn’t as important than America. Understand I love America, but not as much as I love God.

I meant vote for a Mormon for President.

That is what fulfills the so called prophesy.

And one has to admit that socially the US Presidency hold an unique position in our society, has unique effects upon our culture that a US Senator, that a Governor doesn’t really have.

The Mormons will see this as a vindication of their faith and will use the fact of Romney becoming President as an evangelizing tool that will bring more people into this false faith.

Isn’t that more important than any good that Romney could do as president (which I don’t think he will but even if he did)?

God or America? God or the GOP?

  • Scott Hanson

When Romney loses, and I still think he will, as someone who is just going to “spoil” my vote by writing in someone I will still have my faith. But what will those who put Romney before God have?
