Thank You, Iowa House Republicans

We spend a lot of time critiquing our politicians. It’s only fair and right that we thank them when they perform their duties admirably.

Yesterday, Iowa House Republicans voted to stop all taxpayer funded abortions in our state when they passed  HR-8489. It will now go to the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Iowa Republican Party Chairman A.J. Spiker said this:

“Many Iowans, including myself, are morally opposed to abortion. It is simply wrong to force an individual to finance something that is against his or her conscience,” said Chairman Spiker.

“ As Thomas Jefferson once said, ‘to compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.’

“I applaud the Iowa House for standing up not only for life but for all Iowans who are morally opposed to their tax dollars being used for abortions.”

We here at stevedeace.com concur. If there’s one to get right–this is the one. Life is the most fundamental God-given right. This will force Democrats to admit to Iowans that in a time when our economy is in the tank, they think our hard-earned money should be used to fund baby killing. We sincerely thank you for taking this stand.

    Do you know how C. Dolechek, District 96, and R. Anderson, District 97 voted?

      Cecil voted yes as did all Republicans except for 3 who were absent.

    Good first step. But if murdering babies is wrong which it obviously is because it violatees God’s commandment “Thou shall not murder,” why are any elected officials consenting to the murder of any baby whether it’s funded by the tax payers or not.

    Pro-life, pro-rule of law representatives from both houses should be demanding that Governor Branstad abide by his sworn oath to enforce the inalienable right to life for all innocent human persons (due process and equal protection of the laws for all innocent human persons no matter how small they may be) and prosecute anybody who intentionally murders a pre-born baby as they would for any other intentional murder of any other innocent person.
