Congressman Ron Paul remains true to his libertarian roots by saying that the federal government has no business picking favorite industries in our energy forum, including the ethanol industry. He does not support subsidies for ethanol—possibly putting him at odds with many Iowa farmers and consumers. He maintains that until we have a free market system (and that’s certainly not now) he does support tax credits and goes even further by saying that when a tax credit is removed, it’s the same as a tax hike.
