  1. Luke says:

On boy… Ms. Hughes obviously did not do her homework before this interview. If she is right about the direction of the Tea Party, then it just as well can be the end of the Tea Party. This is simply a recreation of the libertarian party platform.. she said they want to partner with them, but they already are them. It grieves me to hear some of what she said, but I’m glad to have heard it. If $$ is the only thing we are supposed to be concerned about in the USA then Mitt Romney ought to have won and we could all go back to fat wallets and apathetic ideologies. If the Tea Party was wise, they’d be looking to connect with the Constitution Party first as well as the Lib. party, but not for the sake of $ in our pockets but for the principles upon which this country was founded. Yes, taxation without representation was important then and is now, but it is not the most important thing. Fast forward 10 or 20 years to an unprincipled Tea Party that has made it into all levels of government and has amassed some national and state power. How will they be any different than the current GOP elites? In her own words “It’s not about these social issues, it’s all about the Economy..” Where have we heard that before?
