    The earth is as old as scientists say it is. Between Genisis 1:1 and 1:2 the earth that was ruled by angels was destroyed. Scripture teaches this. Charles Capps has an excellent teaching on this. I would go more into depth on this myself, but I have to go to bed, so go to charlescapps.com/ and check out his CD series titled The World That Was. Here’s a summary of it:
    Contrary to what most people believe, the world is much older than 6000 years. However, it did have a face lift at that time. Biblical, scriptural evidence that the world that was is not the world that now is.
    Charles reveals what the bible says about The Creation and the beginning of the World. This is not the Darwin theory or the Creation Science theory, but what the Bible says about Earth. The Bible teaches the earth could be millions or billions of years old. Discover the scriptural references that support this teaching.

      The Bible teaches no such thing. Nowhere. All of this must be read *into* the Bible (eisegesis) from previously held presuppositions; none of it may be read *out of* the Bible (exegesis). It’s simply not there.

      You theory would pretty much eliminate the whole redemption story. The Bible teaches us that sin was introduced by man’s disobedience of God. The results of his sin was death. If there was life and death before man’s original sin, there would be no need for a savior to pay the penalty for our sin.

      1 Cor 3:19 tells us that “the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” We use techniques based on assumptions to guess the age of the earth. If those assumptions are wrong, we come up with the wrong answer. If God could create a man who was an adult the day he was created, could he not create an earth that appeared to be older than it’s actual age?
